Yes used machs are more profitable but the smaller A4's can be hard to find in the used market. A4's are Kyocera's & Impressions Solutions strong point. The no quota aspect of buying from a distributor is great too. No hard sales tactics from the sales rep at the end of each month/qtr/year. And that leads to only stocking what you need, not what the mfr wants you to.

    Thank you again. Much appreciated.

Also, being a dealer adds value to your company if you were to sell later on down the road. Keep us posted. I like the fact that there are no quotas to meet.

I want to be clear. I'm authorized to sell only certain machines. I can sell anything 35ppm and below. I have access to firmware for those machines only. Same for training from Kyocera. Now, I do have access to parts and supplies for every model.

I'm okay with this because I don't have any quotas. I do have access to the larger machines from another source if I need them. But they are more expensive. A little bit.

I ordered some machines and supplies yesterday and they are being delivered today. It's great that the warehouse is only a couple of hours from here.

            Re: Changes to the business

I'm finally set up on Kyocera's training portal. I'm not sure if that's the correct name but I now have access to all the firmware, manuals, tech bulletins and a boatload of training videos. Most training courses have prerequisites, so I'm kinda starting from the beginning. In fact, I'm doing a course on color theory. I covered all of this when I was in electronics school so it's pretty boring thus far but I have to take notes because there's a test at the end before I can pass.

There's so much information that it's kinda overwhelming.

PS - I can also do in person training if I choose. I'm sure I will at some point.

PSS - I also see that there's sales training. I may get in on that, too.

You should also be able to enroll any techs that you employ for instructor led training.
