Ok, opinions on a job offer

So here's the deal. I have an offer. It's from an office copier dealer. I have no recent office copier certifications. But, I am certified on KIP and some OCE wide format. Basically, it's all the same technology, just assembled differently than an office copier. I have a total of 14 years of experience. The guys offering $30,000 a year. That's considerably less than I was making. Think he's taking advantage?

yes, but make a counter offer. no more than 6 months at that rate and have a set amount from that point in writing, if you fail to live up he can let you go, but if you live up he pays up. if agreement is not met, walk. all agreements in writing

I agree with the poster above, but keep in mind the Michigan economy at the moment. I live there too, but not in the "high rent" district. There are plenty of people around here who would be more than happy to start at that salary, especially if they had the chance for improvement once they proved their worth. My 2 cents.

I'll have to agree with the previous posters. Sure you can start at 30K, but with scheduled increases as you get up to speed and get your certifications, in writing, of course. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
