Over time, paper dust, ink residue and other debris accumulate inside the printer and coat the roller. When that happens, the roller cannot move freely, and paper jams can result
. Put your printer in draft or economy mode
      .
Run your printer's cartridge cleaning tool once a week. Remove the toner from the printer and put a small piece of masking tape over the window or drum.

Okay...Maybe I am drunk, but you are insane if you think that draft or economy mode will help any "printer."
Clean the damn rollers and earn your keep (if that is your Yob)
NEVER sacrifice quality--hell teach them how to clean the "rollers" if you are that damn lazy....

Yes, also sacrificing cute little fluffy furry animals to an obscure deity seems to help a lot I have heard. But only when doing at the same time that Indian rain dance....

I use Isopropyl alcohol 70%..works great, you can also try " blanket wash" ( used in printing industry) if you have acces to it.

When I clean gray feed rollers I usually start with blue glass cleaner or water. If they seem a little dried out, I hit them with some WD-40.

For most all other rubber I use WD-40.

WD-40 is easy to obtain and moreover, it works.

Depending on the type of feed rollers, sometimes I'll scrape/sand the old dried out rubber off in order to get down to some good rubber. That doesn't work on all rollers, tho.

Quick question: Do you view rubber rejuvenator as a temporary or permanent fix?

                            Not sure.

Is extending the life of a given expendable a temporary fix?

If I have to put it in a binary category, I suppose it would fall into temporary fix.

Isopropyl alcohol is readily available in the US in solutions of anywhere from 50% to 91%. It is a common household antiseptic. I also will dry out many rollers and cause them to crack as it draws out the natural oils.

The reason that I ask is because I used to use it a lot but most of the time I would have to go back and replace the feed tires with new. Because of that, I only use it in a pinch and I always go back and replace later.

I have had it to last for a long time but I'm never comfortable with it.
