    How has business been???????

I own my business as an independant and business has been dog slow.
I blame a lot on the price of gas and the economy.
I also blame the greedy Corps that push throw-away equipment.
Small businesses are wasting a lot of money on cheap non-repairable/ extended warranty equipment.
    Is this national or global?
Speak up and make your voice heard!
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I agree about the "disposable" equipment on the market these days. Business has been fairly steady for us here in southeastern Georgia. Has gotten a little slower recently but that's due to school being out for summer. We have 4 different county school systems we service, so right now is normally our "catch-up" time of the year..

Things are as busy as ever, but I do notice that margins are getting smaller and smaller every year.

Everyone wants to spend less money on equipment but expect the same level of service. The manufacturers are partly to blame as they are making cheaper more disposable equipment these days, they are also paying less and less in terms of maintenance and warranty tiers, expecting dealers to foot much of the cost ($60 warranty tier for 4 hours work is laughable).

I am expecting this industry to collapse in on itself in another few years which is all the more reason I'm getting out while I still have my sanity.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

Slow as shit here in NEW YORK, the industry and the customers are going to shit. The old school loyal customers are dying off and the new younger breed who can give a shit about Loyalty has taken over.

If your young enough get out, I am 44 and will be tough to make a move.

PS many times what happens in NY first usually trickles down to the rest of the states after. The economy is like a Huge Ship making a turn around, its very slow and takes great effort.

If these assholes in our Government would declare today that they are not going to be dependent on Foreign energy and that we are going to start drilling ASAP, you will see things turn around a bit.

Same here. Typical slow summer months. It's a great time to catch up on training.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Ssssllllooooowwwww!

But that's normal for summer. It has been unusually slow for the past 5 years. I hope it isn't atrend for this industry or our country as a whole. On the brighter side their is a lot less traffic on the freeways.
