Thanks. Could'nt se the file on my mobile, but on PC it fine

It is a huge workaround !, i think we will solve it by setting up a new mailserver to smtp.office365.com instead, and wait for a final firmware fix.

We are also waiting on a final fix. We use isp mail server when possible like if they have charter. Or have them use USB stick scan or we set them up one PC with smb scan.

Under your gmail settings check that "Allow Less Secure Apps is on" under sign in and security or it will kick back your scans.

Did check that and it seems to be set default to allow less secure apps.

I just did my first attempt at the workaround - it worked! It was on a C284, and it didn't wipe the address book or settings. Here's the abridged version of the fix:

1. Set software switch 25 to 20
2. Install firmware version GB0-A9 (GA0-A9 on C754/C654/754/654)
3. Set software switch 25 to 60
4. Install firmware version GB2-K5
5. Successfully scan using GMail.

1. Set software switch 25 to 20
2. Install firmware version GB0-A9 (GA0-A9 on C754/C654/754/654)
3. Set software switch 25 to 60
4. Install firmware version GB2-K5
5. Successfully scan using GMail.

Our service manager did a c754 in the shop today and worked perfectly and also no loss of info or settings.

I originally tried the downgrade... lost harddrive... and ADF...

then went to a9 -> k5... not getting forward tx error any more but am getting a login error. Tested the gmail account on an e series machine and scan to email works just fine... nothing with the credentials, less secure apps, etc.


stumped, cant figure out if its a SSL issue or firmware issue or what.

I did the same thing it worked on 2 out of 3. The 3ard machine what I did to finally get it to work was change the DNS

Hi Guys,

Has anyone from KM UK/EU has tried this solution? I know that US -EU firmwares are slightly different and this fix not necessarily might work in EU.

Also i wanted to point out that firmware GB2-K5 in Uk/EU is the firmware dedicated for the E range machines(C224e/C554e) and as far as i understood you cannot flash this firmware on non E machine or you can simply brick it.

So back to my original questions, anyone in UK/EU has tried this? or Spoken to KM-EU ?

I applied the fix on a C454. Only difference is after installing GB0-A9, I could not get switch 25 to take the change to 60. It would stay on 20. I tried several times. I tried rebooting and tried again but no luck. Then I decided to go ahead and install GB2-K5 and then was able to change it to 60. Everything including scan using gmail server worked fine.

As far as I remember you are not suppose to change SSW 25 to HEX 60 after version up firmware. Each Firmware after G9 has the use of HEX 30-40-50-60. On a side note, I am using the GB4-A9 firmware which also takes the step of deleting movie data at the same time, or thats what I've noticed(hence the long boot time)
