When providing remote support to clients.....
    • what is your software of choice?
    • free version? or subscribe?

Using it more and more every day. Key is ease of use on client side.

RSUPPORT | Remote Support Solutions for PC, Mac, Mobile

We use RSupport. Never had a problem & it's reasonably priced. I think we've been using it for 5 years or so.
It's easy to use on both ends & works on Mac & PC both.
    Hope that helps !

I've used Teamviewer, had a licence for a previous version, no good anymore - won't connect to newer versions and they upgrade so often with no backward compatability, use AnyDesk now.

Simple to use - just email a link to the remote user, they click a link to a small download, very quick and you don't have to try to guide users to a website, download etc.
Nothing works quite so well that I can't totally disable it by trying to make it a little better.

Two Thumbs up for Teamviewer in "private support" mode!

Download the regular version for the technician and use the quick support version for the client!

Instantly access any device, fix IT issues faster and increase productivity with ScreenConnect's remote support solutions. Start a free trial today.

Used to be reasonably priced anyway until someone bought it out. I think it still beats the competition though for a paid remote support program. I am grandfathered into the old payment plan which is nice. But this remote support software offers everything I need and much more. You can also tweak a ton of the client sees so that virtually all of the Screen Connect branding is gone and all the customer sees is yours, even down to the small icon in the system tray, and the small icon on the browser tab. With some website coding experience, you can change pretty much everything about the website as well. So, it makes it look a lot more professional in my opinion unlike team viewer or logmein. Plus, there's nothing for the customer to install and the only thing left behind at the end of the session is an executable which is useless after the session ends and can be deleted.

The 4 main features I probably use the most are drag and drop files, restart computer (screen connect will automatically reconnect and you can see their login screen and log in with their credentials), you can copy things to your clipboard on your PC, and paste them onto the remote session with the normal ctrl+c ctrl+v commands, and for our customers in rural areas with junk internet connections, you can change the quality of what you see to compensate for the slow connection, even to the point where it's all black and white.

Its also very easy to connect the customer to the session. You can send them a direct link to the download so they don't have to type in a super secret session code or anything. If you absolutely need to though you can go the session code route. Heres a screenshot of what the customer sees:

              Re: Remote Access Software

I've had a paid subscription for TeamViewer for about a year now,

So far, I've had no issues with it, but it kinda sux that I can't control a client with a newer release.

My company is only one version behind, but it's still an issue if the customer has the newest version.

Previously, I used WebEx. While it was overall very good, I have had issues getting connected a few times.

Once I got used to TeamViewer, I decided I liked it better.

Recently, I've done sessions with some of our major vendors, and it seems that they have selected TeamViewer more than any other.
