    You are actually configuring your PC to recognize and use the USB WIFI device. Nothing is stored on the device. The devices that a number of us have recommended are also configured by first connecting them to your computer (CAT 5 port), but with them you are configuring the device and the settings are saved on the device. Netgear N600 (WNCE 3001) can be found online for under $50.00.

        Works a treat, 5 minute set up and voila you have a wifi enabled copier!!
