    Sharp AR_M257 scan to folder

I'm trying to get a Sharp AR-M257 set up to scan to shared folder to the server and can't seem to make the connection. I believe I have all permissions, path, dns, IP, etc. set properly, but, it errors out when I send a scan to the folder. The server is a windows 2008 R2 standard edition so I believe the SMB versions should be compatible, if applicable. The copier is has the MX-NSX1 and I see scan options scan to ftp, email, desktop, url. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I read a post where you have to set up the shared folder after joining the domain, I'll give that a shot and see what happens.

the arm 237series,arm 257 series and mxm 260 series (same as 257 but with different covers and toner) do not have SMB protocol (used for scan to network folder), these can only scan to email, ftp and desktop(sharpdesk software). I have a hospital that added the scan kit to these printers recently and no scan to network folder on these 3 series, but mxm264 and mxm623 they have have SMB.

Thank you, Faxman, I was thinking that SMB may not even be possible as there are no options in the web browser. I can't believe they don't have that capability, especially the mxm 260 series, thanks Sharp!

Sharpdesk is by far the simplest solution. When loading select Sharpdesk only, not the full package. It's FTP. Some Sharps will do SMB, but not the 257. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
