add a new user to Mac: name is scan, pass is scan.
read this. 10.7: Enable the FTP server - Mac OS X Hints
apple has disabled by default the ftp in his OS.
follow the hints and the scans are landing in the homedir of user scan.

Apple's implementation of SMB is total crap!

I've had fairly good luck installing and configuring SMBUp:

      GOOD LUCK!

        SMB

Do the devices have any NTLM settings? (Usually under Network configurations)

If so then try each option. I only work on Bizhubs which default to NTLMv1 but will fail when scanning to Mac 10.7 or higher.
Usually all it takes to fix is to change NTLM to v1/v2 but if you can't marry up the authentication protocol to your Mac then you might have to to go with FTP.

What steps have you taken for SMB Scanning?
