Scan to NAS from Canon 5051/4045 & kyocera KM5050 Not working

    Dear All,
One of our client is Using NAS for scanning the documents. But From our Canon IRADVC5051 ,IRADV4045 & Kyocera KM5050 SMB scanning is not working. But the client have one small HP MFP they can scan from that one.

But asper the client's IT they are configuring scanning using SMB 2 protocol and our machines are not capable of handling smb 2 protocol and they are asking to upgrade the firmware of our machines.

AnybodY please help us to sortout the issue.

    Thanks in advance

The last firmware update for the FalconIII is 08-09-2010 version 2.45a ... a full year before the release of SMB2.

My guess is that there isn't going to be such a firmware update. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nice how some customers upgrade their environment then just drop it on us to supply the updates for equipment. All at no cost, of course.

Have you checked which port the machines are scanning to? Since Vista, windows has blocked port 139 for scanning and will only allow it through another port such as 445. SMB2 is only using another port such as 445 for scanning, port 139 is blocked by windows because it was a security risk. Have you checked what the customer is using as a firewall? Is it Windows or a third party program? Either way you need to make sure that the port you use such as 445 is allowed through the firewall. By default Windows restricts the port and you need to enable the firewall rules for it. Also do the machines have the proper permissions for accessing the NAS folders? Is the NAS system on the same domain or subnet as the machines? We have found many times that jumping across subnets and domains that the username and password that is good for one server is not accepted by another even when IT says it should.
