    Scan to SMB

Working on a M3550idn. User stopped scanning, giving an 1102 error. Tried everything, firewall, turned off Avast internet security. Checked Windows feature to see that SMB v1 was turned on, client and server. No success. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Scan to SMB

Check the sharing settings on the folder.... Microsoft like to push out updates that break scan to desktop folders. Make sure the copier has login credentials to the computer with "Full Control" over that folder.

Also go into the properties of the IPv4 adapter, click "Advanced", go to the WINS tab and check "NetBIOS over TCP/IP". If it's defaulted to NetBIOS over DHCP, sometimes that breaks scan folders too.

    Good Luck!

have you tried hooking a lapper to it and try to scan to folder or email that way?

what OS is on the workstations?

Are you trying to scan to one PC or to a network folder? We have discovered that scanning to a network folder on a Win2016 server, that IT has setup to use a username password that supposedly never expires actually does expire. Simply entering the info again or resetting the password on the server account resolves the issue. We had a major customer with hundred's of units have this problem a couple of months ago and simply resetting the password resolved the issue. Hope this helps.

"Tried everything" did you update the firmware?
