New Windows 10 update breaking printing

Hi folks, we've had numerous calls today for printing not working. Seems to be a widespread issue since Microsoft released their newest update.

This update will revert printers back to WSD ports and generic print drivers (we disable WSD on our machines before sending them out, if you don't, printing may still work however we find printing can be very slow for WSD). This is fixed by just adding the IP port and reinstalling the driver.

Update can also completely break the print spooler (we've seen one case of this so far). Only option at the time is to revert the update back. Windows supposedly is disabling automatic updates so it shouldn't update back again.

Didn't see a thread on it so figured I'd inform everyone. If I missed a thread on this already feel free to close.

    Thanks,
    T.

The Windows update doesn't change the IP port to WSD it adds an additional copy of the driver with a WSD port.

So for example if the correct IP port PCL6 driver is set to default & not "let Windows choose" this wont be an issue.
