We use a gmail account we created for relaying and have a lot of machines using this account. We have not experienced any issue like yours.

I never get the xxx@gmail.comso I am not sure why you are seeing that.

I have a mysompany@gmail.com account with around 50 machines all at different sites all scanning fine, great.

However now when I add a new printer at a new site it fails to scan.

So this is normal, I get the security email to “mysompany@gmail.com” that says click to confirm you trust this sender etc so I confirm I trust this sender as I have done 100’s of times but still these new devices refuse to scan.

I concluded that because I get the “confirm this device” email the MFD has sent the email out but Gmail have blocked it I just can’t work out why!

(Allow secure apps is on this account & has been for literally years!)

I can send & receive email via this Gmail account without any issues.

We found testing email from our laptop or a customers computer before testing it from the copier has a much higher success rate. It seems Google's security is triggered if the first email from a new account on a new network comes from a copier.

There wasn't any pop-ups or warnings to indicate sending from a computer was any different than a copier, but through trial and error it just works better this way.

Never use the same email for all customers! For several reasons:
          1. Privacy reasons. You could consult your customers' scans, violating their privacy (sent mail).
          2. Google starts blocking the abnormal IP address. When your customers scan, they log in. You have 50 customers, so they are likely to scan 50 different places at once. This Google interprets it as a possible account theft, then warns you and blocks the scans.

So my advice, create an account for each customer or request to provide it.
