    MAC prints multiple pages

Guys, I don't know a damn thing about MAC's & neither do my customers that insist on buying them & having me figure out their F-ups. I installed a Sharp AR-M450N (don't think that is relevant) on the new MAC at a church running OS 10.5 whatever. Everything was fine, got it working good. Now a month later any time you print something you get 20 of whatever it is. I created a text document, told it to print 1 and I get 20. There is a Preset setting which looks like printing preference in Windows. I tried to create a new one, but still got 20 pages
    Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
    Hope that helps !

Not a tech for Sharp, but have you checked to see if the printer configuration of the machine is set to print that many pages of a print job? This may not necessisarily an issue with the driver or the Macs'. Does this occur from only one of the Mac workstations or all of them? Is there a Windows machine to print from that exhibits the same issue? If so, then it's definitely on the MFD side.

Otherwise try printing, get into the preferences of the printer driver, you should see a drop down Standard (I believe). If not, click in all the drop down boxes until you find it, then click it. If it's already selected then find Copies & Pages and make sure that it's set properly.

This is all from not so recent memory so some of it may be slightly off, but you get the point.

    Good luck!

All the windows units print fine and the Mac did also from the beginning. It is the only Mac on the network. I tried looking for a printing default, but only found that Preset thing. Of course I'm just looking through everything since I'm not familiar with Macs. I did try to Google it, but came up empty.
      Thanks for the input.
      Hope that helps !

              MAC

              Try checking the following:

              Go to FINDER

              click on APPLICATIONS

              then SYSTEM PREFERENCES

then under hardware you will find PRINT & FAX

click on the SET UP PRINTERS button

Highlight the Sharp printer and click on the Utility from the menu bar

              Double check all the settings.

I've networked MAC's for about 5 years and when I have problems 90% of the time it is a glitch in the printer driver. Where did you get the driver for the Sharp AR-M450N?

Meanwhile, I will search MAC's knowledge base and let you know if I come up with a know issue.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that.
I got the driver off SharpUSA.com or the service so it should be good. It was working fine for the first month so I assume an end user messed with something.
                Hope that helps !

Yeah, based on that, I agree. If going through the Printer set-up in the Mac System Preferences doesn't work -and- if the driver worked when it was first set up -- as a last resort I would uninstall the driver then reinstall.
