    I need to connect an MFP on ethernet network which have only usb option.

      Only for the printing part.
      Is there a good reason to do it instead of changing the MFP ?

        ive had users connect it to a old laptop then have the laptop share the printer

          You can also connect it directly to most routers. Look up the manual for your router and follow the instructions for printer connection. My router also required a utility to run on the pc to redirect the connection.
