Access recording unit with finger print sensor. Finding IP-Address

Customer has a very expensive access recording unit with finger print sensor, camera and RFI-Tags. The unit should be hooked up to the local network but the IP-Address got lost and his IT-bloke also got lost taking all documentation with him.....

Now they ask me if I would be able to hook up this piece of equipment in the network, hence my question: Is it possible to find out an unknown IP-Address from any piece of equipment by using something like some kind of an IP-Scanner?

Advanced IP scanner is tool I use:
Advanced IP Scanner - Download Free Network Scanner.

My question was incomplete, forgot to mention that ofcourse DHCP seems to be off .
So there seems no automatic generation of an IP-Adress which otherwise could be found by a normal Network scanner.

I would get the model of equipment and find its manual. Should be there 99%.

NetScan will do the job. It might take a while though, if you're going to scan xxx.xxx.xxx.000 to xxx.xxx.xxx 254
You'll need to know the mac address or the manufacturer of the device to narrow down the specific address.

Another way to find it would be to do a scan with the device on the network, then do a scan with the device off the network. You should be able to identify the device that disappears off the list. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

arp command will get you a list of all the IP's on the lan. Command prompt, then:

            arp -a

The device may have the MAC address on a label somewhere.

              yes its possible.

I think the easiest way is to connect to local network and scan the ip subnet. you can use ip advanced scanner or angry ip scanner. Then manually go through every single ip scanned, and see the manufacturer name.

if that is not working out, You have to access the router.
See the dhcp server list from the router and You can search the mac address from the router.
