    Kyocera M3655 printing issue

    I just installed this machine last Friday to replace an OKI that has been in service for close to 5yrs. The only thing I needed to do was input the IP address and the IT dept would handle the rest. So, I yesterday I receive an email from the manager in the shipping dept saying they are having issues printing, and that the machine was very slow in completing the jobs as opposed to the Oki. I'm sure this is some type of driver or possibly MS issue but thought I would get your thoughts before I stop in there today.

    I suspect that your printing issue is the result of printing web pages. Kyocera devices have a lot of issues with the embedded web-links in web pages. Often the web-link too closely resembles the PreScribe language commands native on the machine. Check your error log for CF248 errors.

    The simplest solution is to select a "Printer Friendly" page or "View as PDF" before attempting to print.

    Also make sure that they are not trying to use that old Oki print driver to print to the Kyocera. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Just stopped at the customer and of course, the IT guy is not in today. They are printing from several applications(excel, web, internal custom applications, etc) it is affecting all of them. It happens when let's say one of the guys needs to print a packing list and then decides he needs another copy and hits the print button right after then the error will occur or it will take forever to print. Or jumps to another application on the fly to print and that error will show up on their computer screen. I beleive the IT person loaded the univeral KX driver for this machine. not sure if a different driver would correct this or is something else up? Any input would be appreciated.

        Your attachment specifically mentions the U-Line website. That's a good reason to follow that line of thought to it's conclusion.

        Mentions of other applications may very well be exaggerations or simply untruths. Until you actually see it happen, you won't know exactly what's happening. I tend not to believe broad statements like: " ... it's affecting everything!" Usually it is not affecting everything.

        I definitely prefer the KX driver over the Universal in every case. You lose a lot of functionality in the Universal driver.

        Also make sure that your drivers are not directed to WSD ports.

        What about that error log? =^..^=

          Def agree, use the KX driver. On the Advanced tab of the driver, make sure Enable Advanced Printing Features is OFF. That sends jobs in EMF instead of RAW and messes with Kyocera-specific instructions.

            I never use the universal driver. But I doubt that's your problem.

            I always try to have the IT guy give me a different IP address when I'm switching vendors- prevents users from using the wrong driver.

            Look at your status page and check the network speed. The MFP may not be able to auto negotiate the network speed.
            So they may be on a gig network, but the MFP is only connected at 100Mbps. This is usually the first thing I check for slow printing/ printing errors.
