At least for right now Windows 10 does everything I need it to ... so no change for now. Thanks for the information. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      +1 here.
I do not understand professional customers switching urgent to W11 on otherwise very good running equipment. I will not accept any W11 in my office, except one machine for testing drivers for my customers. Definitely NOT for our standard office use.

Also I do not see a reason to throw out good equipment just because the processor is an i5 from a little older generation. My dearly loved personal Asus ZEN-Notebook has an i5-7200U processor and cannot run W11. What a criminal idiotacy just to generate hardware sales. Fuck MS and their hardware tricksters gang trying to push hardware crap down the throat!

It's Windows 10 R2 for the most part. The hardware requirements are more or less to ensure less of a performance hit for some of speculative attacks that are possible that older processors can see a significant performance hit on.

Windows 10 has two years left of support and by then most equipment that can't run 11 will be close to ten years old anyway.

Re: Have you met Tiny 11

Downloaded it, but not tried yet. Right now my go to personal laptop is a 10-12 year old HP with gen1 I5 and 8 gig. It is using a 60 gig ssd and running Lubuntu. I have "raced" several new computers loaded with Windblows with more ram and faster processor. It doesn't have the power capabilities for hard crunching, but from cold start to internet, to google.com it beats everyone else's. That's it's primary use; browsing, emails, and youtubing. Using it right now. I see so many older computers retired that only need to get away from Windows. Tiny 11 might work, but why not use Linux instead? Just my $.02. Thanks for the info on Tiny 11 though, always appreciated learning new things.

In Security+ study, quantum computing will be available to military/corporate in the next 5-10 years. I think W11 is getting geared up for quantum attacks, but still has a ways to go. I've read that the quantum computers will have such a leap in processing technology that all current encryption will be crackable. One of the big pushes right now is for encryption that can handle the near future processing power. If you really want to see something scary, check openai and chatGPT. Put that software in quantum computers and get ready for Terminators from the future

              Hijacking the thread, I know.

It's the steep learning curve which keeps me from Linux for the moment.

You can always do what my daughter and the rest of the Computer Science and Engineering Professors and Instructors at Cal State University Bakersfield do, run Windows on a virtual machine under Linux.

I use Ubuntu Mate, some things are easier like updates, "sudo apt upgrade" updates operating system and all apps in one go, there's a GUI tool for those that don't like cmd line.
Just recently they chucked a spanner in the works, Firefox is now a different package, so there is a different command to update that specific app.

Or vice versa. Virtualisation is trivial to set up these days. I've got two Linux VM's and two distros through WSL on my Windows 11 laptop.

Hans: Linux is a very easy curve these days. In many respects, much easier than Windows. The days of using a text terminal to start/stop/configure programs and settings are long over. If you know how to burn and ISO image to dvd in windows, I would recommend you download Ubuntu linux iso and just run it from the dvd. It has a live version built into dvd, so you set your bios to boot from dvd and you could try linux without installing anything. One final thing, if you have an Android cell phone, guess what? You are already using linux. Linux on a pc is really no more difficult to use than the android cell phone.

I'll have to keep my eye open for that one. Personally Firefox has always bogged my linux down. I've tried various forks of Debian and it seems to bog them all for me anyway. I've been using Chromium for years and more recently Brave. With Brave install, there may be some cutting and pasting of terminal commands for repository keys, etc. But overall it is a very easy install. If you haven't tried it, highly recommended

Regarding Firefox upgrade, I think it's an Ubuntu thing. I tried Brave, but I stick with FF because of all the extensions.
I got round it by creating a shortcut "sudo snap refresh" then just enter password.
