This is a strange problem in that when I install the correct audio drivers, they simply don't show up. Most of rthonpm's suggestions have to do with Window's 10 being corrupt. That makes sense to me.

The other thing that I wonder about and this could be totally off-base, is if the motherboard is bad, would that cause the drivers not to show up? That doesn't make too much sense to me but I don't know because I've never encountered this problem before.

If it is a motherboard problem, I will not be replacing it. This PC isn't worth it.

I have so much time in this PC that I can't even charge the customers for the hours that I've spent on it. I'm just doing this because I don't like to give up and it's the only way to learn.

I'm going to try to get back on it today. Hopefully.

Hello again I understand you as tech. too some cases are not worthy the time vs charge but every case is a school just one hint to satisfy customer just disable internal card and add a sound card just an idea today sound cards so cheap.

    hope this help,

I forgot to mention that I got the customer to upgrade and he gave me the PC with no sound. I couldn't care less about the PC and it will be salvaged for parts.

Thank you for the update. I think you were right on the motherboard having an issue if the sound card didn't show up. Only other way to confirm that would have been to boot up a linux live cd of some sort as they'll usually pick up sound pretty readily. Then you would have known for sure if it was hardware or software.

Your profile or lack thereof has been reported. If it is a database problem, the admin will fix it eventually. Until that happens you will be treated as a hacker.

Oh weird! I just checked and you're right--shows invalid user. Hopefully it gets fixed. Probably just a permissions issue or like you said a database issue, but I hope it's not database because that's usually trouble for the whole forum since anything and everything can get corrupted. I'm an admin on my own vb forum so I know how stuff like this bites. Thank you for pointing it out!

@Samir is that page yours as it appears as your home page?

It's something that has happened before. It could just be a flag that didn't get set properly when you responded to the confirmation email. Worst case scenario is that Aneurysm will have to delete the user name and have you recreate a new one. Also it could have to do with your email. Google or Yahoo accounts seem to have the least problems.

That is correct, including the 403 message. I told the host to do that after I found some chinese and russian sites trying to attack mine. Didn't have time to fix it back then because I was taking care of my parents and haven't messed with it since. But the domain is still active as I use it for email. Been online since 2004!

The vb conf email usually is used to move the user account from the unvalidated guest user group to the normal one with permissions to post so if something went wrong there I wouldn't have been able to post at all. Funny thing is that on my own forum, it's the 'free' email accounts that have the biggest issue with getting the conf email. All I can think of is when the user account was being created, for some reason the db entry got corrupted so there is no profile table.

One thing I was thinking was maybe it was some permissions I set (I always go through the user settings and set my preferences before I start using a forum), but I just checked those and nothing there seemed off. I even toggled some of them so they would save again to the db, but doesn't seem to have helped.

Hopefully the admin doesn't have to delete my user account, and can instead just make a new one and then merge this one into it so all the data stays intact--I've typed up some long paragraphs as posts and would like to still get credit for them!

Huntsville Car Scene.com. But I turned it off once I started taking care of my parents. I'm a mod on Kizashiclub.com too. Been around forums a long time, cutting my teeth on them back in day using vb3 as an internal communication platform at the LG national call center.
