Text commands to change printing defaults

I know how to add printers using text commands in Command Prompt but how can I change printing defaults, such as changing the driver from color to black and white, using text commands? Is that possible?

If you are referring to a Copystar or Kyocera Mita machine, both of these use PreScribe commands to change these settings. The use of PreScribe is by-no-means universal, so the big question is:

What kind of equipment are you working on? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Turns out that all you have to do is set your defaults in the print driver, then export the .dat. You can't really change the defaults using command prompt.

Where did you export the .dat file from?

Normally I would install the printer on a server, set the 'Printing Defaults' and then if you install the driver using the command prompt or run a VB script, it will drag down the settings that are set on the server.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
