    Fax Test for the USA

Is there a toll free fax back number that will give line levels, etc. for the United States? I can get fax backs from HP (888-473-2963) and Brother's (877-268-9575) numbers, but it has no line conditions or information; it just confirms that you can fax out and receive.
    Thanks...

really I never knew about those? I've always needed non local numbers to test fax too.

If you find an answer to your questions let us all know.

I thought about it later, the Sharp faxes have a Line Monitor and Protocol Monitor enabled with softswitches (I'm sure other manufacturers have something similar). Sending to the above mentioned fax numbers with the Line Monitor and Protocol Monitor enabled would give the handshaking signals and bps for both sending and receiving.
Because I'm a senior member of CRS, I just can't remember the softswitch settings when I need them.

Too bad Savin doesn't have these tools that I know of. Sure I can test each V. standard. All I hear is the modem noises though.
