word 2007 printing issues(Sharp)

Hey guys
I have a problem with a Sharp MX-3501N. One of my customers recently updated their computers to windows 7 with office 2007 installed. I went there and installed print drivers scanning software(all the latest from Sharp). Now they can not print color, but only out of word 2007. I went there and did some troubleshooting. Not sure why they do this but every time they open word they get an "hour glass" and can't do anything within word until they push esc 3 or 4 times, then they can type into word. not sure if that has anything to do with my problem but just thought I would mention it. If ANYONE has any idea at all I would love to hear them. I have no idea what is going on here!! THANKS in advance!!!

This is not a problem with the MX machine.

I have actually seen this before. If you look closely at the bottom of screen when opening Word 2007, it says 'connecting to printer, press esc to cancel'.
There is a microsoft office update which fixes this problem. Word 2007 will eventually open by itself, but may take a few minutes. You should get full functionality of the printer that way, unless your drivers are actually setup to B/W mode.
Before you get the update installed, I have heard that if you set the default driver to the Microsoft XPS document writer, the issue doesn't happen. You then simply select the printer you wish to use through the document print setup.

Again, this has nothing to do with your Sharp MFD. This is a Microsoft issue

i had a feeling this wasn't a sharp issue, just didnt really know where else to go for help on this. Thanks, and i will go update office and see if we get it resolved.
