    Synchronizing questions...

What is the best way and/or software to synchronize two notebooks with one workstation and vice-versa?

Customer has two salesmen running around with their notebooks and when they come in their data should be synchronized with a workstation in the office and the data of the workstation in turn should be synchronized with both notebooks.

They want to accomplish that especially Office files (Word, Excel) are on all machines the same at a certain time/point when they come all physically near each other.

An automated system doing this would be ideal but if the process has to be started manually it would not be a great disadvantage.

I have not set it up in a while but Winblows has a briefcase program built in that can do this. You create a briefcase then move all the files into it that you want sync'd then point to the briefcase from the other computers. (at least that is how it works in theory).
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Goldmine can run undocked versions & Sync with the server when they're back in the office. It runs on SQLexpress or full SQL if you have it.
      Hope that helps !

Set roaming profiles on a server...server 2003 and up is capable of doing this. User logs into their profile on ANY computer and that login will give them access to their files and custom settings.
