Canon 5185 Scan to File Server & Email Loss of Functionality

    Hi All,

Set up scan to server and email a few days ago and working fine at the time. However, it keeps "dropping off" the network. If I reboot the fiery (shut down machine and unplug fiery) it will work when back up.

Now all this time I can still print to the machine. Which makes me wonder if its the machine or the network (DNS? DHCP?).

    Any ideas?

Do those units pass though the Fiery when using U send? If that is the case, you might need to restore the Fiery software.

Not sure what you mean. U send? We just do use the "send" tab on the printer itself.

The Universal Send kit is the option that gives you the "Send" tab which allows you to send emails and SMB scans.

Been awhile since I've worked on these machines. But if I remember, a cross-over cable goes from the NIC of the copier to the Fiery?
