Fiery receives jobs but doesn't process them.

The subject line says it all - the jobs from the PC get to the Fiery, but when trying to process them, nothing happens.

Any clue on this? Or should I grab the fiery software for this one?

internal or external fiery? do u have accounts setup? r u printing to the hold queue? try checking the queues in command workstation or sending a job from command workstation or a different driver.

I don't know which model you talking about, but Anytime this happen on Xerox Fierys, just reload software and everything will be fine.

Dear god, this reminds me of a former coworker. Any blip of any kind that he couldn't fix, on either the machine or the Fiery, resulted in taking the customer down for hours to reload. This was on an Oce, so the machine OS took as long (or longer) than the Fiery did.

But yeah - model of machine, OS on the user end, Fiery model, type of job (.pdf? .doc?) are all necessary to at least get us into the ballpark.

Could be sys software but a few things to check...

Are the Queue's published? Direct and hold can be turned off but if "print" is off that will happen.
Is Windows printing enabled? Disabling Windows printing will have same symptom even if you're not using the SMB port.
          Is port 9100 enabled?
          Maybe try a clear server?

Am I correct assuming this happens from multiple PC's? So definitely a Fiery issue?

Thanks for your feedback. It appears to be working now, although I still didn't have the chance to question the customer as to what he did to make it work.

I told him to try a Clear Server but it didn't work at first - I'm assuming it started working after he did a reboot.

            I'll keep you posted.

            Thanks and cheers!

always keep in mind, that you have your printer connection configured as LPR port (if not availible, you have to add printing service for unix in windows software) and name the printer queue "print" to facilitate the correct allocation of the print job
