    Re-Rite problems with receiving scan to e-mail directly from Toshibas eStudios

    I have problem with Re-Rite, EMail configutration and Toshiba e-Studio ( eStudio 3520c, 520, 2040c all latest FW ). Machines has newest firmware and i using latest Re-Rite.
    Thing is, when i send an e-mail with attachment from ordinary computer, from mail client such as Outlook or Thunderbird to Re-Rite e-mail adress everything works fine. Re-Rite converts this attachment do desire output format and send this to desire e-mail destination. But when i send it directly from Toshiba it goes to destination - i can see it for few second on www mail client but when Re-Rite dowloading it to convert, it disappears. There is nothing even in Re-Rite logs.
    I have two location (customer and our company), two different Re-Rite installation, two different machines, different e-mail servers.
    Problem still exist.
    Any clue ????
    RedMap try to help us remotly, but for now they have no idea whats the problem and are talking with developers.

    Are you sure you are sending a TIFF file?

      Yes, but it's no difference when you doing it from Outlook. It can be either PDF or TIFF, it works.

        Sorry, I just want to clear up the last bit there.

        So when you email the Re-Rite email address with a file from the copier, you then get the problem?

        If what I have said is correct, can you please have a look at your email settings and tell me if the machine is setup to use its email address or the destination email address as the from address?

        If you are using templates, then are the in the format {Language}{File Format}{Filename}{Destination Output}? For example you could set the file name to {}{DOC}{}{2_owl@copytechnet.com} and it doesn't metter how your global settings are, this will override the global settings.

          Yes, all true. It should works like you said. But it doesnt. If you send e-mail to rerite adress with ordinary attachment it will convert and send it back to oryginal e-mail adress.
          Listen, when everything is ok and working Re-Rite icon in the tray is animeted when is working (converting) and then in main log you can read everything about last job.
          And when i send this e-mail from ordynary computer IT WORKS. You can change name of the attachment to {}{}{}{2_owl@google.com} and it WILL work.
          But when you send it directly from Toshiba it will be downloaded by Re-Rite and disappear, nothing on mail, nothing in log.
          It doesnt matter with special template or without.
          RedMap help was twice remotly on our server where Re-Rite is installed and said its phenomen.
          They asked for all emails from toshibas and ordinary computer to find the differences.
          They said they have to ask developers.

            Are you using Meta Scan on the copier?

              No, none of them had MetaScan installed.

                  6.2.0.43 this the latest from RedMap.

                    Huh...

                    The latest from Toshiba Australia (who built Re-Rite in conjunction with RedMap) are at 6.2.0.44. I wonder if there is a fix in the release that I have for your issue? I will go through the bulletin release a bit later and read up on the fixes in the release.

                      Had tried today send Scan to mail from Konica Minolta C250. Same behavior.
                      So it's not the Toshiba only.
                      Do you have any installation where it works in this kind of way ?
                      I mean Re-Rite receive e-mail directly from MFP ??

                        What was the from address on the Konica Minolta C250? Was it the same as the Toshiba?

                        What type of mail server are you using again? I think I might actually give this a try myself to see what happens.

                          I try many different email servers/domains. More, we bought Re-Rite ver. 7 and goes what, same result
                          RedMap helpdesk are helpless, hehehe.
                          Owl please, try configure your Re-Rite to POP3 receiving and send scan to email directly from MFP to the Re-Rite e-mail (Inmail)

                            If this is a Re-Rite issue then you should go for other solutions. There are so many out there ... I can give you a huge list of the ones I have used if you like.

                              In the huge list of OCR solutions, do you have any that run as a service and aren't lock to a manufacturer?
