This one has been a tough one. I have a customer on a school campus that cannot get the Canon Imagerunners to scan to their Exchange server. This is their IT guy, who knows their network. I have verified that their IR5055 and 4570 both get the #801 error. They do not require authentication on the server.
The strange thing is, they have several Dell MFP's, and a Ricoh on the same network, that all worked out of the box, by just putting in the IP of the SMTP server, and an email address. One of the Dell's sits right next to the Canon, and I have verified it's settings are the same.
I have tried it with authentication as well, changing the port, changing the subject heading, etc, but still get the same error. I can ping the mail server from the Canons.
Any Ideas on what to try next.
