have set default seting to black and white
But only when colour PDF files are printed switches itself automaticly to Colour
All other file types are printed in b&w

Are you using full Acrobat or Adobe Reader? Also what version(s)?

If it's the latest version of the Reader, it can override the defaults set in the driver. Try double checking all of its settings. I had an issue where Adobe's settings were printing files duplex, even though single sided was set in the driver.

Sounds like you may be running into something similar

Where in Adobe Reader X are those settings?
I searched but with no success...

                        OK,
                        I knew that...

I want this printer to print in B&W as a priority all document files
Not to print all document files in B&W and only PDFs in colour as a defoult

When you go to the print preverances in the driver properties, you must set it to B/W and "apply" otherwise the settings will not take place, you could also look at the page setup and see what it was setup for as default!

                          Hope it helps
