    Network Faxing with Kyocera Copiers

    Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any techs out there running network fax drivers on a fairly large scale network infrastructure.

The issues we're having is Windows 2008 R2, and about 80 Windows 7 64bit workstations shared drivers from server.
A Taskalfa 520ci with fax card.

Now printing is fine using the KX drivers 5.3.
Once network fax drivers (v3.8) are installed and shared, the print spooler will freeze. Once removed the printing has no issues.

    second scenario:
Windows 2008 R2, being used as a RDP host. So essentially 1 driver for printing.
Again, once network fax drivers are installed print spooler crashes.

I've suggested running the fax driver in isolation mode to see if that made a difference but does seem the network fax drivers may be conflicting the print?

The problem is definately isolated to the network faxing as once removed, printing resumes without errors.

So again, anyone had any similar abnomalies?

    THanks

The network fax driver doesn't support server installation, only local installations.
    Hope that helps !

Thanks Tmaged, can you confirm this with any documentation? The reason I question it is because in the manual, it includes Windows server 2008 and 03, doesn't specify whether it can't be used in a shared environment.

Or whether this is from experience?

Yep Red, from experience. It will actually install & work from the server, but not shared.
Each install has to be local since the driver contacts the machine via snmp.
There is documentation on KMAConnect under the helpdesk.
        Hope that helps !

Documentation would be perfect, it seems you need be registered user?
I've emailed a local Kyocera branch to get a dealership number, but if you had some time Tmaged, would be be able to screen shot or link (might not work with link and login), of that bit of docu for me?

If not, no worries I'll await a response for a login hopefully.

I assumed you were a tech/dealer, which you have to be to access the site.
            Hope that helps !

              Muchly appreciate that T,

Yer work as a dealer but need a response from our local Kyocera dealer for their dealer number which is still pending.
Because it appears this Q&A was from 2004, I'm just going to querry if the newer 3.8 drivers will still be client based.

              I thank you again.
