Printer goes offline after successfull print job

I've ran into this problem multiple times with different Savin MFPs. I'll create a standard TCP/IP port, install the 5c PCL driver and complete a successfull print. A minute later the printer goes offline. I'll stop and then start the print spooler and it comes back online. Send another print, prints fine but then goes offline.

I've removed the port and the drivers just to have it happen again? Has anyone else ran into this?

I had the same issue with a Ricoh device too. See if the printer has reserved static ip address. Otherwise maybe some other devices or computers pulling the same ip address depends on thier network setup. Also try updating the firmware on that machine. Hopefully this will help...

      Auto wake-up?

I'm not so familiar with the Ricohs as printers. Is there some sort of auto-wake-up function that needs to be enabled? From another angle, can you delay the time to go into energy saver mode? Does this help?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I take it your dealing with color mfps since you mentioned a PCL5c driver.

I would first try connecting to the machine with a crossover cable directly with a laptop and see if the problem continues.

If so, try loading the PCL6 driver. The PCL6 driver will allow for all color functions. If there's not one available, then load the RPCS driver for the product.

From there, I would have to think you are dealing with a failing NIB card or a controller issue. Yes, at this point, I would try a firmware update/reload just to see if this takes care of the problem. If not then I would suggest replacing the NIB only. Controller as a total last resort.

If the problem goes away, after connecting with a crossover cable and using the same driver that's loaded on the customers workstations, then it's a network problem. End of the story on your in.

        Hope this helps!

The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.

If your refering to the print Que reporting that the printer is off line, try unchecking the SNMP box in the Port setting, in the printer properties, especialy if this is a 2000 or 2003 server.
Online Store is closed. Chip resetting is a thing of the past! Thank you to all my past customers.
Now into Ip TV KODI Boxes
