Re: USB connection from machine to router
Lets forget the "no print option" for a mintue...
If your wireless router has a USB port on it which is for printing or an external HDD, then yes you can. The router acts as a print server so to speak which redirects print data to the USB port.
In this case, you will need to setup a printer locally on your computer and setup a new Standard TCP/IP Port (for PC) or HP JetDirect Socket via IP Printing (Mac) and use the IP address of your router as the machine won't have one. From there just install the driver as per normal and you should be right to go.Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.Comment

Can I use any router, like for broadband used at home?
How about USB 2g Dongle and printing over small LAN without router, just switch is that possible? I just posted a thread.

Re: USB connection from machine to router
You could also try one of these as well. Basically think of it as a media converter which changes Wired LAN to Wireless LAN.

Two options come with the adapter:
1. Power via USB port (which most copiers are capable of)
2. Power via standard General Power Outlet (for copiers without USB ports)
I've used them on a couple of machines previously and haven't had any issues. Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.Comment
