Ricoh Mp 2550b copier

[COPIERMAN]

i bought a copier that was use in a government location It had the Doc Server button on it but when i push on it nothing happens. I notice on scanner that it load java software and has a vm sd card when i remove it it acts like a regular scanner setup. How do i get doc sever working is it a software that i have to load back on or is it a chip that has to be added to board.

The B at the end of the model number indicates that it is just a basic copier only. No fax. No print. No scan. They can be added though.

Hey copierman because its solely a basic model MFP, it's specifically a copier only machine however you can add other functionality options into the machine. To get the document server function it requires a hard drive option in the machine. With the java option its best to allocate that option into the 'other functions' button on the op panel.

...if it was a "guvmint" machine, they pulled the hard drive for data destruction!

It will have "basic" functions without the hard drive but when it comes to the doc server, you MUST have a hard drive! Hopefully the just took out the hard drive and left the drive carrier and all connectors!

Hi everybody,

thanks for your help i found it finally from suggestion that were made. it was a security issue in menu protect on copier/doc tab . i had to change from level 2 to 1. in order to do this i had to turn on administrator mode first so i could log in then was able to change level. again i appreciate everyone's help .
