Re: Ricoh mp 2550B web Monitior not working
I had this problem on a little ricoh 201....configured the machine in the shop using web image monitor....took it out to the customers site and couldn't access it. Checked all the sp mode settings per ricoh hotline...tried a direct connect with my laptop and still a no go......performed a memory clear and still couldn't get in....the machine would still print and scan no problem.....ended up being the nvram.

Re: Ricoh mp 2550B web Monitior not working
Had a tech call me today with the same issue - at a Gov't account. He was trying to copy the Address book from the old machine, but couldn't access WIM. I told him to use an SD card instead.
Where is this FIPS140 setting located?
Thanks,Comment

Re: Ricoh mp 2550B web Monitior not working
If you have access to a documentation CD, find the security reference and copy it to your laptop. Open the security reference and search FIPS140. You will need the password for the security reference. I found it in another thread here.Comment

Users unable to access the AddressBook or only have limited access
Usually, even if user authentication is enabled, a user who logs into the device can access their own entry (or other entries to which the user has been granted access) in the addressbook. However, if either "Restrict Use of Destinations" or "Restrict Adding of User Destinations" are enabled in Extended Security, a user will be unable to access the address book at all or will only have limited access. The result varies by user authentication type:
- Windows, LDAP or Integration Server authentication:
Users will not have any access to the address book. Only the User Administrator can access the addressbook and make changes to users' accounts.
- If Basic authentication is used:
Users will have access to their own entry in the address book, but will only be able to change the "Login Password". Other account settings are still visible but cannot be changed by the user. The user will not have any access to other address-book entries. As with other authentication types, the User Administrator can access the addressbook and make changes users' accounts.
These restrictions can only be configured via Extended Security in the operation panel.
Information:
An example of reproducing the phenomenon:
1. Enable User Administrator authentication.
2. Enable Windows, LDAP or Integration Server authentication and create a user.
3. Log in to the MFP as the created user. (An address book entry for the user is automatically created in the MFP)
4. Create a scan destination account (via the scanner interface or via the address book).
(After 1-4 are done, the created user can access his/her own entry and the created scan destination entry in the addressbook)
5. Login to the device as the User Administrator. Proceed to System settings > Administrator Tools, and press Extended Security.
6. Because the user had access to the addressbook, the two settings mentioned above must have been Off (default).
Note: Newer models have the ability for these to be configured separately for the Fax and Scanner applications (image below).
7. Enable any of these settings. Press OK and log out.
8. Login to the device as the created user. Now the user cannot access the addressbook.
Note:
The two Extended Security settings are primarily intended for security in scanning/faxing. "Restrict Use of Destination" is to prevent users from manually inputting a scan/fax destination (default=Off). "Restrict Adding of User Destinations" is to prevent users from adding personal scan/fax destinations to the addressbook (default=Off). However, without denying users access to the addressbook from all applications, users would still be able to scan/fax to anywhere they wanted by editing the addressbook from another application. Therefore, if either of these are enabled, users will be locked out of the addressbook completely.Mystic Crystal RevelationsComment

Re: Ricoh mp 2550B web Monitior not working
user tools/system tools/ administrator/ network security level change to zero, but to do this must have turn on administrator auth mgt if it is not turn already . then exit out go back in and log in and will be able to change it. when you go to web monitor will ask if it can be trusted click ok and should see it come up. make sure 5-401-103 and 160 which is in special mode hold # key then press system set to 0 in service mode. I have done three government copier and this works. If this is in a goverment office make sure you change it back cause they don't want any back doors.Comment
