    22' X 8.5" scan?

Is there anything out that scans 22" X 8.5" originals? A client wants to up-grade their old Non-Scanning copiers for ones that scan but need to scan a contract that is 22" long. We Nromally sale Mita and Samsung, but work on all brands.
    Thanks

Xerox has units that will print that length. I don't know about scanning. But worth a look.

Some of the newer Ricoh can scan up to 12X18 on the glass and a few can scan documents longer than 22" through the document feeder. All wide format copiers can handle 22X8.5".

My client was looking at the Kyocera m3040idn MFP. and budgeted for $3,000.00 or less.
        Thanks

With the $3K budget, I don't think there's much of a chance of you meeting that need. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

They could get a dedicated scanner for under $3k. Like a Canon DR-6010c can scan up to 118" long by 8.5 wide in long document mode. Don't think it will be easy or possible to get a multi functional device capable for that cheap.

If all they want to spend for an MFP with that kind of capability is $3k, walk away from the deal.

Nothing good could possibly come of it.

A stand alone scanner may work for the long document scanning. Then the MFP could handle the rest. Any input on a low cost scanner that does 22"+ original? So far I have found most are USB hook-up in the sub $ 500.00 range. That pricing keeps me in range for the copier/MFP I would like to install, but then I think they want network scan. Computers/networks are my week point, I am an old hardware guy.
Thanks for the feed back so far

                  Re: 22' X 8.5" scan?

Kyoceras are able to scan documents up to 11"x63" using the "Long Originals" option in send mode using the document processor.

So, as long as that paper is a full sheet (Not taped together multiple sheets of paper), and doesn't have any strange qualities to it that would require it to be placed on the platen glass, it should work.

Correction -- I didn't see you specified a model, sorry. The small tabletop mfps do not have this option but the bigger ones, such as the 2550ci, do. My mistake.

KIP makes some older print and scan models that are 36" wide.

not sure what they are going for today, but they are available on ebay. Problem is parts are getting harder to get on older models. You need a friend who can sell you konica parts.

not sure if this is worth the money - not much room for you to make anything but you must get images of the fuser - fuser is not cheap if its dinged up you will spend more replacing it then anything else.

All of our KM products can scan long originals, I have scanned banners for some accounts (48"). I would guestimate (not a sales rep) around 3500 for B&W 224e with ADF and Copy desk. All KMs scan in color. Emujo
