The last thing I was going to ask was if it is going off network at all. You can setup a constant ping in a command prompt or probably find a program to monitor it.
Will fetch data log from service and try -t ping.
Here is screen shot of send(all) logs

Is there any alternative email server that could be used with this customer. In any case I've dealt with I've always been able to pull gmail out of my back pocket if needed when the device supports email encryption.

But do you have anything else in your back pocket that you could use to compare with in this environment.

I know there isn't many option if the customer doesn't have access to a hosted email provider.

What ISP do they have? If for example if they use charter I've also had no problem configuring smtp.charter.net on port 25 with no SSL or authentication.

Also there maybe free services you can use to compare like inbox.com to see if issue still happens.

Otherwise I agree with the continuous ping. I've seen weird print issues that gave the E301 error and in one case recently the packets would drop on a ping ever dozen or two. Could even be a bad switch or something.

The Ace in the sleeve was suggested by colleague to use 4G router. Hooked it up and print scan OK. In a sense it was their network. For 3rd time I had discussion with IT company that is looking after clients network and to only find that:
No reservation of IP for the m/c was made. (which shouldn't cause issue anyway since the machine was on DHCP but was told it is done)
Found some computers witch static IP addresses.( issues with network me thinking, that was upsetting) (learned they reboot router1 and router2 almost every 2 days, as they experience also VOIP issues.

The actual upgrade of machine with G20-G9 machine 3 type 0 actually was wrong as for our vendor it meant to be machine 1 and type 0 despite the fact that I had technical on the line during upgrade. Hence why I had Account Track Issues.(at this moment don't have confirmed and solid higher level of FW for our machine so have to wait.)

Downgraded to E4 and checked the SSD ver 6.05m. All solid. Changed SSDP in Network to OFF as per firmware bulletin. Re-loaded E4 with correct machine type settings this time and build up to G9. Double checked on 4G router. Tested thoroughly then banged it again on their network and it worked in terms of printing. Scanning to GMAIL still server connection error. Explained client that if they want to use scan to email, it has to go through their smtp services. After a good chat with IT agreed and had license available, plus got a static IP from him to use outside of the DHCP pool. Created new account to try for now on port 25.

When they fix all their network issues then I may get back there and try 465 port so we can get reports from machine.

Thanks everyone for your input, it is highly appreciated.

PS: I may have missed something during my first trials with the machine, just don't get why FTP was absolutely flawless and SMB would behave the same way as GMAIL SMTP on their network i.e. Server Connection Error, despite the ports being open.

Their router is DreyTek if that helps.

            Update:

465 SSL gives still issues ( not working hence why gmail suffered) current config works like this
            Domain
            25
            UserID
            Password

With gmail issues use TLS and port 587.
              Whatever

Re: Bizhub C452e gmail per page separate file in separate email issue.

I just installed a brand new 284e yesterday at a church they didn't have a network drop and they had a wireless bridge hooked up to bizhub 200 that printed only. I created a gmail account for them and enabled access for less secure apps but I could not get gmail to work on SSL or TLS ports. I set these up almost everyday and never have issue with gmail. It will fail after a minute or two with server connect error. I could ping SMTP.gmail.com just fine. Tried different DNS. Tried another known working account we have and still no luck. Was just one user with a laptop so I just configured smb scanning and said the hell with it and decided not to waste more time troubleshooting it. Lucky the smb was good enough for them.
