    canon NP6650 START key wont work

    display indicates READY,but START key wont work,tested the keyswitch it was ok,exposure lamp ok,fuser area ok,no error code indication.ive traced the keyswitch its going to the main board..is there a possibility that if i removed the main board the programed might get lost?kindly help me??

    Trace the wiring start keyswitch to the main board.Replace main board battery.

      Also try cleaning the Ultrex connectors under the operation panel. Very common! =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        thank you very much for the replies,well yes i did cleaned each connectors with the VIDEO 90 spray cleaner,ill try to change the back-up battery next time..i assumed the main board has the problem cause when i try to pressed the start key and test it with the multitester i can see signal coming in to the connector just like the other keys.i hope the problem will be solved??salamat!

          Hi i think you should also check for cold joints on the operation board.
          sometimes the key switch is good but the signal is lost ....
          and try clean the ultrex on the dc cont. and the interface pcb.
          that's it
