    iRC5185 color misalignment

I have two iRC5185's and two i use for spare parts. Quite some time ago, one started having color alignment issues. It's secondary machine so we just used if for B&W until I could get to it.

I swapped the ITU assembly with one from a spare machine and it prints the EXACT same misalignment on the PG6 and PG10. I removed and cleaned the lenses on the pattern reader unit. What else could it be?

    I'm not a tech so I know I'm limited, but I can swap parts/clean.

Paper is loaded portrait, so this would be the sub-scanning direction, which is why I thought it would be the ITU.

Wow. Thanks Teckat. REG-CLR fixed it. There is still some minuscule space between the black and yellow, and the cyan and magenta if you zoom in (not a great scan) but I think it will be workable. Much thanks.

Been through this (with some help w/TCat), if it comes back the ITU should be suspected still. I think it's related to the secondary internal roller (in ITU) that pushes transfer belt against the secondary transfer external roller (final transfer) but swapping whole belt unit fixed issue in 3 machines when other attempts failed. Swapping just the belt and cleaning etc did not.
