    CANON NP 6551 /Jamming

    Hi
    I'm getting a grinding noise coming from conveyor belt area and jamming right before fuser unit.Havnt seen many of these,Any help
    will help a lot.

      What jam codes?

      If it's jamming 010C, the odds are that your fuser drive clutch is slipping. The fuser slows down and stalls, and the paper ends up flipped over in the bite of the fuser, with the next page sitting on top of that. The clutch can be cleaned and re-greased with IBM23 grease. Keep in mind that this is quite an old machine, and that clutch may absolutely need replacing. Grease the new clutch like you did the old one. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Open front door an make door switch contact.Turn on the printer,wait to warm up and inspect fixing roller if uniformly rotate.I suspect fixing gear.
          Definetely post jame code!

          make the standard procedure

          -Is the height of the paper guide
          correct?

          -Is the cleaning belt taken up
          correctly?

          -Are the external delivery sensor
          (PS10) and the fixing assembly
          outlet sensor (PS47) normal?

          -Is the delivery paper deflecting
          plate oriented in the direction of
          delivery?

          -Does the delivery roller move
          smoothly?
          If it ain't broke, don't fix it

              Sorry doing about late post.Thank you for all the help,I was doing this call as subcontractor for another company.The customer never went ahead with the work and decided to get new machine,THANKS ANDY
