[CQ] Canon irca 5255 waste toner underneath transfer belt causing marks on copies

    Hi

We Have had a few instances where it seems that waste toner is getting underneath the transfer belt and sticking to the rollers which in turn causes raised lumps to appear on the belt, this manifests as dots on the copies/prints.
They are new machines so have all the modified transfer parts.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is it obviously waste toner? that is to say you cannot see a distinguished colour and it is the dirty brown colour you get with waste toner.
It can be coming from developer housings?
Is it on a particular primary transfer roller?

The build up was right in the centre of the roller which is whats confusing us. We know about the issues where waste toner can get underneath the edges but not right in the center and nowhere else?
We Have lots of these machines out and its only happened on a couple at the same customer.

It is on the primary transfer roller and the larger black roller on the opposite end of the itb.

OK i'm now thinking along the lines of waste toner coupling or IBT cleaner and that it is being pulled into the inside of IBT belt, probably due to static, and clumping on the rollers. It is more than likely that the idler roller / steering roller is where the pimple is being created (either roller on the outer edge of the belt assembly).
Unused / waste toner is not being taken away for some reason and it is being pulled into the ibt assembly. IBT cleaner and/or it's coupling to the waste toner section are possibly to blame.
