    Canon IPF 750 came in with E196-404E error dont know ip address or usb hooked up

    I am trying to update the firmware using the L printer service tool but don't know the previous IP I also don't have a pc that was connected via usb to run the tool.
    Is there another way to force the firmware or a way to pull network info?

    1) If the device is still onsite, I think I would go to one of the PC's nearby, open the Driver Properties > Ports > then open up that column to see what the last IP address was.
    2) Alternatively, you can bring your laptop and a switch, connect both the laptop and Canon to the network, then run SoftPerfect network scanner.
    Fast multi-threaded IPv4/IPv6 scanner with an extensive range of options and advanced features for system administrators and general users.

    Specify searching for port 9100. From the command prompt do an ipconfig/all to determine what address range you need to search. Net Scan will list all the IP addresses in use. If you browse down the list, you will be able to narrow down the number of addresses using port 9100. To further narrow down the entries, compare the MAC addresses by manufacturer to this reference:
    MAC_Find: Vendor/Ethernet/Bluetooth MAC Address Lookup and Search

    Easy. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
