[Electrical] Canon IR-5050 N Check network connection

    Hi,

I have a IR-5050 connected as a network printer and it displays the check network connection message. The cables are all OK, tried other network cables. Carnot ping from or to the machine.

I cannot ping the machine, did a RAM clear and reset all network settings. The USB port has the same problem, cannot connect with the machine only sees the fax board installed.

Looks like an expensive main board replacement

      Go to
      service mode Level 1,

      Copier>Function>Clear

and then perform a MMI Clear a couple of times.

Check with the IT guys if the port where the machine is connected is on. some times a port being spare they block it or simply it is not connected to the switch.

Did you put a laptop on it with a crossover cable. I could be as simple as one of their network switch being bad or unplug because it can't see the network at all with that error. I would try that before I spent money on an expense of a board. Mongo

Re: Canon IR-5050 N Check network connection

Problem resolved ...turns out the customer had some guys upgrade their network to a cloud based system plus a windows 10 upgrade , than one way or another the machine could not be seen on the network.
i changed Internet driver settings: Auto detect OFF / Half duplex / 10 base-T, with these settings the machine could be seen again on the network..(green light turned on on the hub).

Don't know how or why..but it worked
