    5570 6570 Biggest POS ever???

Unfortunately, I picked up two of these monstrosities on a maintenance agreement. I swear the engineers that designed these could complicate a fart! I've been working on copiers for over 30 years and these are by far THE worst. OK, rant over. Thanks for listening.

Come on Vigor. Are you going to tell me that fuser can be rebuilt within an hour, like most other machines? On most machines built in the past ten years, the fuser can be removed with two, or four screw, at the most.

I see you work for a Canon dealer...biased?

Those are the right models, Skynet. Older machines.

I am biased. 32 years Canon only.
There is a technique to doing that fuser.
There is a notch in the white gears and 2 pins provided to lock the heater in place, until the roller is assembled.
Remove the pins before putting fuser back.

If you can't find the pins, just rotate the front and rear gears in the same direction, till it stops and hold it there when re-assembling the heater

Thanks for the tip Vigour. I'm sure I'll be using it in the future.

Nothing worse than the NP 210 & CLC 300.

                  I agree
My first training course was on NP210
We need to add the first generation 5180 fuser to the mix (when we had to transfer over the gears solenoids, motors and cabling over to the new fuser belts )

5570 6570 was a great machine if looked after! feed rollers good for around 200k, fuser rebuild around 400k, drum NEVER, blade 500k+, corona units (don't bother re-wireing replace about 500k+)

Keep it clean & in a good environment you wont have many big issues (however they are getting on a bit now)

How about the NP-200....with moving platen and the LFA located right above the toner supply. As I recall the toner came in a foil bag which you had to cut open and dump in by hand. Toner dust would always soil the LFA, and constantly needed cleaning.
