[Electrical] IRAC 2225i slow control panel

    Hi all,

I updated the firmware to the latest version, getting intoservice mode was a nightmare even once in it was such a pain to scroll throughthe menu etc
    Firmware made no difference.

The machine will print fine, no delay there.

Could this be a faulty control panel or what?

It is the control panel CPU. I have a 2230 part number FM1-R848-000. The advance 20XX and 22XX control panel CPU's are different. It used to be the touch screens and after many attempts now we know it is the control panel CPU's on the advance series. I have a couple of 25XX that are starting to show that symptom but don't know if it is touch screen or CPU on those. If anyone knows I would like to know. The CPU is not as expensive as a control panel. I had a new control panel for a 2230 that had that symptom and a year later same thing. The new control panel had the old CPU in it. Maybe static or something does something to them.

Thanks for the info, didn't know these IRAC machines had a CPU in the control panel, we've got a few scrap irac22xx machines so i'll "borrow" a complete panel of one of those.

Do you know a rough price of the CPU? & is it the same CPU on the 20xx & 22xx models?

I think they are $20-30. 20XX and 22XX have different CPU boards. A lot cheaper than new control panel. It is called CPU unit but is actually a circuit board. CPU is a short term used on the canon tech site.

As a side note, I've replaced 2 cpu control panel board within 2 weeks. If you see it occur on an IRADV 4000 and I adv 5200 series, don't rule it out. It's likely the cpu board. The 5200 board is a tad bit more involve.
