    [CQ] Black shade on printouts

    Hi guys,
I have this issue that there is a black shade on the paper. Was fine last week but after 1 week (machine kept on) but no print/copy jobs, the printouts became this (see attached).
Previously I had the same issue on another IR Adv C5035 but was resolved by clearing the DC-Con and full adjustment.
This time it did not work. I suspect the DC con was not cleared successfully. (I did a R-Con & restarted the machine, the settings still remained)

Any advice on this black shading issue or DC-Con clearing?

Thanks and hope to hear from you guys again.

Looking at the sample as well as what Teckat has asked I would also be interested in looking at the fuser cleaning and drum life. The sample has regular lines in it which to me sugests a possible mechanical cause, where as the DC-Con (to me) would create an unbroken background.

First thing would be to take a look at single colour test prints to see if it is repeated on those as well.

Color seems okie with PG10. but still have the black shade.
And i am aware that the fuser film has a small tear but the customer prints only b/w so it is fine for them.
Crititcal issue would be the black shade

Your posted copy shows background in the BLANK AREAS/ Non-Image area.

Did u check the single color test prints ?
Does the pg10 have background in Non-Image areas ?

Have u checked a Black Drum Grounding Or Bias issue_?

                :-\
U could also have a Black Developer Assembly
                issue.

HVT 2 provides the primary charge for the black drum.
C5030 - C5035 use GPR-31 Drums. Black Drum part number 2778B004BA. Color Drum Unit 2777B004BA.

Will bring the black developer, drum and maybe ITB to test on monday.
ANy reasons why I am unable to clear the DC-CON?

Thanks and will update on Monday!

                    U should back-up those DCON\RCON settings before a clear,
                    Then put them back in.
If u don't, I put the settings back to factory.
Unless u put back the sheet settings.

                    :-))
To BACKUP Reader Controller data prior to clearing or replacement:
                    Enter Service Mode Level 2 > Copier > Function > System >< RSRAMBUP >
Highlight RSRAMBUP and select OK, item will indicate "Active" and end with "OK." At this point, it's now ok to replace or clear the Reader Controller.
                    :-))
                    To RESTORE Reader Controller data:
                    Enter Service Mode Level 2 > Copier > Function > System >< RSRAMRES >
Highlight RSRAMRES and select OK, item will indicate "Active" and end with "OK." At this point, Reader Controller Data has been restored.

                      Very valuable information!
I am not sure, but it really seems to have something strange on clearing the DC-con and R-con. the "Ok" buttons pops up almost instant and all the settings still remains after restarting.
I found some of the error prints in my car, and attached them.
                      Have you encounter them before?

After changing all the parts mentioned, the problem still remains.

Today i replaced the black drum and it work! I took the faulty black drum back to factory to try again on another machine...It work flawlessly as well.
                        Both are brand new drums.

                        Un-explainable x-files...

Nevertheless, thanks all for the valuable input.
