    E000020-02a2 error on IRC2570CI

I have an IRC2570Ci and it gives me this error: E000020-02a2.
I think is the magenta drum, but I want somebody to confirm.

I find a similar error on the forum E000020 - and it is the drum unit.

    Please help.
    Thank you

The "02" sub code does point to the Magenta drum...but it may just be that the salt sensor window is covered in toner.
Check the drum life percentage...these drums can go anywhere up to 300% but we HAVE been having some weird issues with banding and the drums falling over at 15% lately.
Do a pg5 test print in service mode and see what the quality is like from the magenta drum.

Now I can't print anything. The copier gives the error then I can just power off. The copier has 40.000 copies.
Can you tell me were the salt sensor is located?
I find a sensor in the lateral off all the cartridges, I clean it but the error is the same. The rotating carousel is stopping with the magenta drum in front off the sensor that I told you.

        Trouble Shooting error code E020-xx10, xx11, xx12, xx90, xx91, xx92, xx93, xxA0,xxA2, xxA8, xxA9.

Workaround : COPIER>DISPLAY>DENS>SGNL-Y/C/M with the Initialization setting in COPIER>ADJUST>DENS>SGNL-Y/C/M.

COPIER>DISPLAY>DENS>SGNL-Y/C/M arethe ATR Sensor readings of the Developer in its present condition and should be within +/- 100 of the Initialization settings.

COPIER>ADJUST>DENS>SGNL-Y/C/M arethe Initialization settings that the copier maintains and are usually between 400 and 650

        2. If the Initialization setting is outside these numbers the Developer Unit will need to be replaced.

When replacing the Developer Unit, make sure to execute:
        - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>STIR-Y/C/M
        - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>INIT-Y/C/M
        - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>SPLY-H-Y/C/M

After Initializing the Developer Units print a P-print and keep with the copier.
        -COPIER>FUNCTION>MISC-P>P-PRINT

        3. If the ATR Sensor reading is over +/-100 of the Initialization setting; the ATR Sensor, Patch Image Read Sensor, Drum Unit and DC Controller are suspect.

Check the status of the Drum Unit under COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC>DRUM-LIFE. The Patch Image Read Sensor looks at a patch of toner that is generated on the drum for each color and determines the amount of toner that is in the patch by the amount of reflected light. If the drum is not creating the patch correctly, the patch reading will be affected. Replace the Drum Unit if it is close to or over 100% of its rated life.
If the Drum Unit is not close to or over its rated life, replace the ATR Sensor and Patch Image Read Sensor. If the error continues replace the DC Controller.

        5. If over toning continues to occur the Toner Supply Clutch (CL7) may be sticking and need to be replaced.

          I'm guessing that you're not a Tech?
iRC2570 is based on the iRC3100 series and doesn't have a set of colour drums but ONE single OPC drum and a set of four toner containers mounted in a rotary turret.
          Are you using genuine toner?
The fact that the turret keeps stopping at the magenta dev position is a give away that it's either an issue with the dev or the toner container.

            Product : imageRUNNER C3100 Title : E020 - XXA2 Error Code Problem :
Experienced an E020, sub code XXA2, which means the signal value for ATR control is 960 or higher. Replacing the developing assembly with one from a known working machine did not resolve the issue.

            Solution :
Replaced the developing assembly using a brand new unit from parts stock. Switching the developing assembly from one machine to another did not work. The known working machine is also starting to exhibit E020 - XXA2 when the unit was put back in the machine. In this case using a new developing assembly resolved the problem.

                Hi Oze,
I'm not a tech - I'm not doing service for copiers everyday, but once a month I have to repair one or two copiers.
The toner that i'm using is always genuine.
I will change the yellow developer on monday (if it arrives) and then i will tell you that is working.

                Thank you for your suport!

I have replaced the magenta dev unit with a genuine one.
                  I do this steps:
                  - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>STIR-Y/C/M
                  - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>INIT-Y/C/M
                  - COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>SPLY-H-Y/C/M
                  (only for magenta).
Then the copier gives me "chance magenta toner"
I follow the steps for chance, and after the copier is checking the toner it stops after aprox. 30 seconds with the error: E000026-0201.

What it means? I didn't find this code.

p.s. I can do copies but only b/w. The drum life is 99%.

I arrive at this morning to the office and the copier gives me the first error:
                    E000020-02a2

I have clean everyting, I found the magnet of the magenta developer unit, not in his place,I put it on the right place but nothing. Still I got the first error.

Now you need to start fault finding on your own.
I gave you a head start in the first tip I posted.
Do you have another iRC2570 that you can steal parts from?
iRC3100 parts will do...except the DC pcb and Main Controller...they're different.
But you can try the drum patch sensor and ATR sensor and DEFINITELY CHANGE THAT DRUM.
iRC3100 series drums WILL NOT GO PAST 100%...they are NOT designed to...not like 3200 series drums.

Thank you for the first post.
The think is I don't have another parts and I have to find exactly what to do. The sensor stop the copier only on magenta dev unit. And this unit is a new one.

                          I have solved the problem.
I enter on administration menu then I did a DC Con. Then restart and print PG 5 for 5 times, after I print a lot of pages.

                          Right now it's working fine.
