    [Error Code] C2020i

Have installed new black drum unit, on power up I get E0020-1360, when I put old unit back this does not happen. I have checked new unit and cleaned contact points, visibly it looks fine. Could it be a faulty unit or am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated...

I had one doing that every time I changed the black drum. Found out doing DCcon backup, clear and restore it took the new drum fine. Then many months later it started throwing codes when color drums put in and cleaning laser fixed that. Very dirty manufacturing plant. Had a half a dozen 2030's there and that was the only machine that did that.

This seems to be a fairly common fault, before fitting the new drum update the system software & clean the laser glass. If it still thows the code remove & clean the laser mirror internally.
As a last resort fit the old drum chip to the new drum unit & "fool" the machine into thinking it has an old drum installed.
