I dont know if this issue was addressed but herewith the fix as experienced by our Techs in South Africa

Whenever you get this error, before changing boards, first just replace the toner. Voila, problem solved.

The chips on the toner triggers this error.

I have 4 fax 650i get this code because they use non canon toner cartridges. I suspect you are using non canon toner cartridges also. A new toner cartridge solves this problem. Luckily my company only uses canon parts and supplies. I worked at a place that started using non manufacture parts and supplies and the service calls increased tremendously!
