[Dead] IRC 4080 Won't Finish Boot Up

Machine was running fine until moved to new premises. Touch screen activates when power is turned on but shows perhaps 5% travel in boot sequence and freezes. Lamp activates when ADF lifted.

Haven't got much experience with the 4080, but after moving the copier, i'd say "check and reseat connectors on all the controllers, boards etc..."

Remove, clean the contacts and reinstall the ram and boot rom chips on the main controller.

Thanks. Just tried that and now the LCD flicks on for about 3 seconds and then goes off.

Thanks. All connections seem ok. Have tried cleaning the boot roms and ram as suggested by reprokev but no luck there either. I have a second 4080 machine with a fiery but it has major colour registration issues so is out of action too. I have tried swapping registration belts but no improvement. I really need one going as have major print run to do.

did you remove and then reseat all of the boards that are in the main controller?

When these machines are moved, they can twist, and then you get loose connections on all of those boards in this area

Good suggestion, thanks. Just done all that and still no improvement. Swapped the ops panel with the other machine just in case that was the problem, but both ops panels work ok on the other machine. I would be keen for any thoughts on the colour registration on the other one (both copy and print) as that may be a more useful avenue to pursue.

the color misregistration could be the ITB assembly, ITB drive unit, the patch reader sensor unit above the ITB or the laser units. I have listed them in the order I would look at each one.
