    Image runner c3380i Door open

The machine keeps requesting to close door. Looks like a photo interrupter switch for door closure. Any body had issues with this? thanks Ray

This is a common problem on this model.

Have a look at how the front door switch works, take it apart & stretch the spring inside.

Also I add a few pieces of strong tape just to pad out the switch lever to apply more pressure to the switch

In the front, a good switch will two clicks when good, bad switch 1 click. Not bad to do, only bugger is disconnecting the spring to the side lever. Good luck.

Which door is it saying is open? Front, upper right, main right or lower right?

The lower right door has a modified version with a metal pressure plate on it instead of the spongy pads that collapse.

Main right door can warp/bow over time and whole door can need replaced. Lower right hinge bracket (white plastic) can crack and prevent door opening/closing properly. There's a door switch to the right of the fixing assembly behind the white cover that protects the fixing connectors. 1 screw removes cover and if you wrap a few layers of insulating tape around the white part of the switch it makes better contact.

Off top of my head not sure on this model but on some other models there is a metal actuator on the inside at the bottom of the main right door which can get bent.

On the front door there's a photo interrupter sensor and an actuator. Check they are making contact.

I've had door open message for the upper right door every morning and intermittent stationary jams in 3way unit. I ended up replacing 3 way unit and that sorted it.
