    IR 600 false E005 code

    Hi Guys,

    I am dealing with an IR600 that keeps getting an E005 code. The web is good the sensors have been changed and the multi pin connector has been cleaned. The last tech took out the flag that triggers the sensor so I know it's not that. I have read alot about the code here and all make sense if there is a bad connection when the copier is being used and vibration loosens a connection. This one triggers the code even when it is sitting idle. Could it be a bad power supply or bad voltage at the wall? Any suggestions? TIA

      This is what I found:
      the cleaning belt inside the fixinf assemblyn has been taken up
      the fixing cleaning belt length sensor (ps7) is faulty
      the DC controller PCB is faulty.

          Hi Totoro,

          Blitzkreagg is right.
          the E005 is dealing with the web, and / or it sensor.
          You know this anyway.
          Double check yourself.
          Check that the web is put in right. You stated that it's good.
          The sensor is good,
          Go into service mode of this 600 and clear the error code and the history, than shutdown the machine.
          Waiting a few mins., than turn back on.
          see what happens.
          I know this, I've never seen the power supply go bad on this equipment.

              I have a DCC on order and will put it in next week. I will let you all know the outcome. It would really be a lot easier if this was a hard error. It's so intermittent that I can get 4 in 1 day and not get another for 2-3 weeks.

                  The web drive gears on these machines eventually disintegrate. There are 6 or so gears, and they all look very similar, so be careful to get them back in the correct place. =^..^=
                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      Have had this many times. Usually the multipin connector. Remove fuser drawer and reform pins, gently pull pins back up as they are probably flatened down. It,s the 3 on the end, can't remember which end. Also fixed one once by cleaning connector on dc controller. Common problem, board is not the problem

                          Try clipping the tie wraps on the wiring from the sensors.

                              Make sure there is no tiny bit of paper in the multypin connector .. it can get trapped when the tray is pulled out and then returned with paper jam near fuser .. I have had this twice ..
